DESCRIPTION

Amazon Localization Operations includes teams that support translating and localizing product listings into multiple languages and making them available for sale on all of our global e-commerce sites. We are a business intelligence team with a vision to establish and improve data-driven decision making across teams by providing easy access to data and self-serve analytics.

As a BIE, you will be responsible for creating tools and systems to expedite decision making. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to automate manual processes, create operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards. The candidate should be able to apply a breadth of technologies, data sources and analytical techniques to solve a wide range of high-impact business problems and present the solution in concise and effective manner. Additionally, the candidate should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating to non-technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impacts the bottom line of the business.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:
· Work with stakeholders to design and develop scalable, user-friendly systems and reports using Shiny and deploy them in production environments for multiple users
· Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data sources and know how, when, and what to use and what not to use
· Develop high quality SQL queries to extract data and use the data subsequently to create dashboards on visualization tools like Tableau or Amazon QuickSight etc.
· Regular communication (both verbal and written) with internal business and technical teams for requirements gathering, progress update and closure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to understand and use Excel macros
· Experience in reporting tools like Tableau or QuickSight a plus
· Experience in using programming language like Python is a plus
· Experience with AWS technologies like Amazon RedShift, S3 and data pipelines etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
· 3+ years of experience working in Analytics / Business Intelligence environment
· 2+ years of experience using R for programming /scripting and Shiny for creating tools/applications
· Advanced knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel with prior data mining experience
· Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
