At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and visionary people. We are looking for a highly analytical Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Amazon Shipping and Delivery Support (SDS) organization.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will generate insights that will guide operational excellence and product development for our customers. Data analysis is at the core Amazon's culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will be gathering customer insights, mining data, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world to gather insights using data from across Amazon. These efforts will change the way customers receive packages, developing solutions to delight customers, and solve logistical challenges at an Amazon scale.

An ideal candidate will be someone with broad technical background in data analytics, strong business acumen, high degree of ownership, and is customer obsessed. The successful candidate will also be a great communicator who can crisply communicate his/her analysis in non-technical terms to senior management. They will have a strong bias towards data-driven decision making and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The candidate will also need to be a great collaborator who can work with internal and external teams to define and implement solutions that will yield benefits to Amazon customers around the world.

Responsibilities:

· Apply data mining, quantitative analysis, and statistical models to understand how our customers interact with us and identify the best way to improve the customer experience and meet our goals

· Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions

· Build scalable solutions and self-serve platforms that will provide insights that inform business decision making
·
· Acquire various data sources to enable holistic analysis at a global level
·
· Build various data visualizations to tell the story and let the data speak for itself
·
· Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
·
· Proactively developing new metrics and studies to quantify customer behavior and reduce defects
·
· Conduct written and verbal presentation to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, economics, statistics, applied mathematics, data science or equivalent experience
· 3+ years of relevant professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data engineering, data science or related field
· Expertise with SQL and relational database systems
· Experience in designing and building data infrastructure/automated reporting tools (Tableau)
· Proven track record of being able to learn, develop, innovate, and implement new technologies.
· Inquisitive mindset, with proven problem solving ability, and a passion for big data
· Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
· Experience in designing and building data infrastructure / automated reporting tools
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis clearly to a diverse audience, including senior executives, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses
· Passionate about understanding customers and their behavior
