DESCRIPTION

As a leader in the space, Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers several products as web services and processes trillions of events every month. Providing a scalable platform to support AWS’ expanding business is a complex architectural challenge, and accurate cost and usage information is a critical piece. Enterprise-level customers make large dollar-value decisions based on the timeliness, accuracy, and detail of the data provided by our products.
­­­­­­­­­­­­We are seeking a strong, business savvy business intelligence engineer with strongly analytical skills to work with the AWS Insights team to understand and address their billing questions, develop automated tooling to address those questions, identify recurring themes and develop relevant technical documentation, and build and manage our query library for direct customer consumption and use.

· Work with AWS Insights team members and other internal stakeholders to understand and address billing issues
· Recognize recurring billing questions and develop relevant technical documentation that clearly summarizes the issue, highlights various options available and details the steps to be undertaken to answer their billing questions.
· Develop and maintain query libraries that help answer common customer billing questions.
· Work with multiple internal AWS teams to conduct deep dive of billing issues, understand root causes, and formulate a solution to address billing issues.
· Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
· Support business with time-critical tactical data analysis, support recurring and ad-hoc reporting for various stakeholders.
· Understand billing systems, interdependencies and limitations.
· Improving back-end data sources for increased accuracy and simplicity.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master's degree in Math/Statistics/Engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline.
· 5+ years in relevant experience as data scientist, software engineer, business intelligence engineer, or equivalent.
· Advanced knowledge of SQL, shell scripting, and MS excel.
· Strong active listener with solid written and verbal communication skills.
· Proven ability to work cross-functionally and delivering automated solutions for customer-facing data science problems
· Advanced understanding of AWS services, including complex database ingestion operations
