Business Intelligence Role

Are you a self-starter who thrives working with complex data sets, and highly complex problems? Amazon is looking for a talented business intelligence engineer to help manage our ever-growing information needs and support analysis of increasingly complex business. This is a high profile role working with a broad range of stakeholders, requiring an exceptional individual to contribute to the data analytics.

This programme is responsible for improving the customer-facing information regarding the products available on our websites. We operate within a very ambiguous environment which has a regular need for deep analytical exploration. The successful individual would be responsible for continually solving highly complex problems, working with stakeholders from various businesses and teams. They would be expected to participate fully and constructively in the planning of your team's work. They would contribute to evolving your team's practices, constantly looking for improvements. They would work with relevant personnel across Amazon on project issues, and seek to share knowledge across the Amazon business intelligence community

The successful candidate will have played a leading role in several analytically derived solutions that have solved large-scale business problems. They will have contributed to the evolution of their team's basic analytical practices, recommending changes in development, training, and programming standards. Experience of developing automated analytical solutions is preferred.

Role Expectations:

Business Analysis
Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that help shape our business roadmap.
Independently develop and drive action plans to systematically remove and prevent defects identified from the data.
Where necessary, work in an iterative and hypothesis driven manner to develop proofs of concept
Work closely with engineering teams to deliver automated and scalable solutions. Collaborate with the engineers to specify clear user requirements. Provide assistance as business owner during the software development process to help prioritize tasks and validate the progress.
Manage timelines and coordinate your work with other team members including software development schedules.
Adapt quickly to create solutions for new business problems than when you first started.
Provide analytically based feedback and take part in a constructive dialogue to resolve them.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or related field.
· Experience using SQL, ETL and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
· Skills in Excel as well as any data visualisation tools like Quicksight, Tableau or similar BI tools.
· In depth knowledge of AWS solutions such as Redshift, S3, EMR, Athena, DynomoDB
· Coding proficiency Python or other relevant scripting language
· Strong bias for action and "get it done" attitude
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner
