DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s Digital, App, & Game Services (DAGS) team is seeking an experienced marketer who is passionate about the mobile space to contribute to our business on Fire tablet and Android. DAGS is Amazon’s conduit connecting mobile app and game developers to our devices, services and customers worldwide. Our vision is to make it easy for customers to discover and engage with their favorite apps, games, and digital content, while helping developers delight, engage, and monetize their customers.

In this role you will be expected to work with business leaders to understand the problems they need to solve and design the appropriate solution. You will work closely with our business and finance leaders to leverage your expertise in order to guide our investment strategy in the Japanese marketplace. You will need to partner with engineering teams to collect new data in order to produce 360 degree views of our business, analyze the results, form strategic opinions. Often times, the ideal set of data will not be available and you'll have to think creatively about what is available and what you can do in order to drive results. You will create financial models, author research papers, and publish this work to educate and influence decisions makers.

Responsibilities include:
· Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context of the business.
· Educate, inform, and drive business decisions by connecting your analysis through the lens of financial performance
· Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know when, how, and which to use and which not to use.
· Interface with all internal related and ancillary teams to deliver data and analytics as requested.
· Model data and metadata to support ad-hoc financial analysis and pre-built reporting.
· Report results in a manner which is both statistically rigorous and compellingly relevant.
· Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for secondary datasets.
· Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
· Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation and publication to ensure confidence in the metrics we publish.
· Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
· Tune complex query performance using profiling tools and SQL.
· Triage many possible courses of action in a high-ambiguity environment, making use of both quantitative analysis and business judgment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (Quicksite, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.).
· Experience in AWS Technologies (Redshift, EMR, S3, etc).
· Experience with consumer research or marketing performance analysis.
· Experience with statistical analysis
· Experience with scripting for data acquisition and operations.
· Expertise with SQL and ETL processes.
· Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
· Passionate about data and analytics.
· Thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Relish working with different teams
· Enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts (that are typically being defined in real-time)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or equivalent work experience.
· At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
· At least 1+ year of experience specifically working in a Finance, Accounting, Budget, or Investment analysis role.
