Summary of the role

Amadeus For Developers aims to bring developers to the forefront of innovation and empower them to build the next application that will disrupt the travel industry. If you are a software engineer who loves connecting with other developers, sharingyour passion for technology, and thinking out of the box, this is your role. As a Developer Advocate, you will work with developers building innovative applications and new businesses with Amadeus Self-Service APIs, and you will support them through the entire journey to help their ideas succeed.

The role includes building and nurturing Amadeus new developers’ ecosystem, by proactively engaging and building close relationships with developers, startups and other innovation partners. You will represent Amadeus For Developers at hackathons and external events worldwide. You will speak at conferences and meetups, and communicate with the community through blogs, social media and other channels.

Also, youwillplay a key role in driving the strategy for the new Amadeus Self-Service APIs by working closely with Product Managers, internal developers, and other cross-functional teams.

Main responsibilities

· Represent Amadeus For Developers externally. Become Amadeus’ ambassador to the developer community by actively engaging with tech groups globally.
· Build tooling and technical documentation for Amadeus For Developers platform. Write inspiring code samples and demos. Build creative prototypes using Amadeus Self-Service APIs.
· Speak at external events to share your expertise and provide technical assistance. Support organization of hackathons, technical workshops, meetups, and other events for developers.
· Help Implementation teams and customers to build solutions using Amadeus Self-Service APIs.
· Be the voice of the Developer Community. Gather users’ feedback through multiple channels (face-to-face, social media, support channels, APIs analytics). Translate feedback into specific recommendations to drive the Program strategy from the Engineer, Product and Marketing point of view.
· Be the first point of contact for developers building new solutions with Amadeus Self-Service APIs. Act as the point of escalation for users’ issues and think of solutions to make it easier for developers to build successful apps.
· Provide recommendations to improve and evolve Amadeus Self-Service APIs, working closely with API Development team, Implementation team, Product Manager, etc.

Requirements

· BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development or a similar technical field or equivalent practical experience.
· Technical versatility and software development experience, with significant programming experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python or Javascript
· Good knowledge of data structures, of how the internet works, and how to secure public-facing services on the internet
· Experience with of at least one full stack web application framework (such as Node.js, Rails or Django) or a Javascript framework (such as Angular or React)
· Proven experience working with / consuming Web Services with different technologies (SOAP, REST)
· Experience in technical writing demonstrated via blog posts or other written work
· Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Public speaking experience or aptitude..
· Entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and eagerness to innovate.
· Willingness to travel to engage developer communities in different locations. Flexibility in regards to work schedule. Duties may include working some weekends supporting hackathons and industry events.
· Other preferred Qualifications:
· Considerable success as a Software Developer, Technical evangelist, CTO, Product Manager or consultant working with various technologies
· Active speaker engaged in the developer community and/or experience presenting at technology conferences, hackathons, webinars, etc. Previous evangelism activities preferred.
