PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
To perform the activities assigned by the department/project leader, in accordance with the engineering process for the design, from system requirements to system implementation and validation, for software projects taking into account the “standard platform” approach being rolled out by ALSTOM for software development projects in Spain.
To provide technical collaboration at project level, for design, development and testing activities as follows:
- Helping ICSC Department, and software department, proposing new solutions aligned with the customer requirements.
- To understand system requirements, carry out gap analysis with ALSTOM standard platform.
- To realize the software design / development activities required for system/subsystems, to match system requirements, taking into account Quality/Cost/Delivery (QCD) objectives of the project
- Co-ordinate with other engineering members/ disciplines of the project
MISSION AND OBJECTIVES.
Design, Develop, Validate and Test software modules in the field of information technology around railway signalling. Participating in projects for system communications, local or remote supervisory systems, tool development or interlocking development or V&V for signalling projects, with adequate quality, schedule and right cost.
It will include not only the generation of documentation, but also the test on-site.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Responsible for technical tasks
- Realizes and justifies his technical work in accordance with the tasks appointed by the ICSC team at project level. This means the software design and development for modules or complete applications and the Functional and validation tests during the commissioning phase.
- By doing so, always has to have in mind if the compliance with system requirements are aligned with ALSTOM standard platform policy
- Ensures the quality of his job to contribute to the quality of the system being delivered
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS.
University degree (High level) in engineering related to electric, electronic or automation processes with 1 year experience in similar work.
A minimum of 1 year experience in the area of software design / development for supervisory or control systems and software system integration. Experience in Visual Studio C++ ,C#, OPC, XML, SQL Server, SNMP and VBA will be appreciated.

Technical Skills & Competencies.
- Knowledge of the common applications based on Windows (Project Office, etc).
- Command of English.
- Good Knowledge of industrial communication standards and system integration procedures for supervisory systems (OPC, SNMP).
- Knowledge of Database programming and management (SQL Server database).
- Knowledge of SCADA products.
