Description of the job

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Tasks & accountabilities

This position will bring the opportunity to work at ProtoSpace in Airbus. ProtoSpace is the innovation lab built on the model of Fablabs, within Airbus where ideas take shape. ProtoSpace is based on three main pillars: Technology as we are looking at cutting edge technologies which will disrupt the business; Agility by the implementation of new project management techniques in order to provide quick solutions to today’s challenges and Prototyping in order to demonstrate the new technologies and concepts. ProtoSpace has the means and tools to prototype a wide range of concepts such as mechanical proof of concepts, electrical, robotics, materials, structural, etc. The current position will be based in Getafe (Madrid) but will be closely link to the ProtoSpace network (10 different sites so far) in order to maximize our impact.

The candidate will be in charge of the design and manufacture of the proofs of concepts related to electronics and robotics. In this way, ability to design robotic solutions is required. The candidate will have to identify potential user cases in the business as well as to continue the already existing ones. Programming skills are required as well as electronic knowledge in order to design the circuits and implement new tools in the framework of Manufacturing Digitalization / Industry 4.0, using several technologies: Industrial Internet of Things, Machine Data Acquisition, Big Data Analytics, Augmented Reality, Mobility and Wearables.
The candidate will have to be creative and passionate about electronics and robotics, a deep believer in new technologies and their power to change the business as we know it. Final goal will be to implement in the business new solutions which will allow cost and time savings.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Young graduates in Engineering.
·  Experience in Robotics would be desirable.
·  Maker mindset and open to new challenges and ways of working.
·  Interested in developing new technologies through the detection of problems.
·  Good knowledge in programming (all languages would be taken into account).
·  French: negotiation level.
·  English: negotiation level.
·  Spanish: would be desirable.
