Description of the job

A vacancy for a Structure Thermal Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

You will join the Overall Aircraft Design and Optimisation department.

You will be responsible for Thermal analysis:

- Managing the thermal analysis for stress at aircraft level on the overall airframe components (fuselage, wing, RFE, propulsion system),
- Managing the justification (static and F&DT), the systems / airframe integration and the Thermal Risks (as part of the Particular Risk Activity),
- For Manufacturing and Research activities: being involved in thermal activities aiming at supporting improvements of the efficiency of Airbus and preparing the future,

- Some Methods & Tools (M&T) aspects are also included in the role.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Identifying the required activities in relationship with the customer,
- Building the plan (deliverables definition, scheduling, cost),
- Anticipating, defining and / or supervising development of advanced numerical models in line with programme milestones,
- Collecting the various input data (structure and systems) at the adequate maturity,
- Interfacing with project customers, systems supplier and Airbus Level 1,
- Performing analyses, verification of analyses, delivery to customer,
- Setting up the key transverse activities with other domains of engineering ensuring a robust multidisciplinary process for the advanced thermal simulations,
- Providing support to design engineers for all programmes on thermal issues - recommendations, design precautions, etc.

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

- Experience in Engineering,
- Competencies in Thermal Engineering or strong competencies in structure/simulation,
- Project managements skills,
- Knowledge in manufacturing-engineering is a plus,
- Knowledge of Siemens thermal tools (IDEAS / NX / TMG / Amesim),
- Knowledge of Dassault Systems tools (Abaqus / PowerTherm),

- Ability to code (Python, Fortran),
- Proactivity, ability to take initiatives,
- Strong communication skills and team spirit,
- Language skills: advanced level of English and negotiation level of French.
