As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year that will allow you to validate your studies. The internship duration is 4 to 6 months maximum.

An internship vacancy opened to join the team in charge with WB (Wide Body) Pylon Design which consists in :

- Designing and Validating the components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance and production/assembly requirements while highest safety of the Product is assured using appropriate Design tools.

- Analysing and Validating the structures for static & fatigue strength according to validated methods.

- Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines.

- Defining, interpreting and validating tests.

- Interfacing and communicating with relevant stakeholders.

- Finally, providing input for the creation of drawings for manufacture and support to other functions (i.e. production, customer support) as needed and provide stress analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged structures.

The mission will start Q1 2020 (dates flexible).

Tasks & accountabilities:

You will work in the Design Office Team for A330/A350 Pylon who will help you identify your personal objectives and assist you in developing your skills. It will be based in Saint Eloi plant and will take benefits of proximity with manufacturing team.

The objective of the internship is to:

·  Perform a synthesis of certification documents, in service issues, tests and manufacturing occurrences to identify main sensitive area of WB a/c pylon.
·  Consult the Design and Stress team, Plant engineering team and Airworthiness specialist to identify main topics on daily support, manufacturing and in service (Airlines).
·  Build data of occurrences to identify main critical topics.
·  Deliver a Technical Note with the following specifications:

- Introduce some examples of non-conformities and their repercussions during Assembly Process or during the A/C Operation, that give an overview of Engineering Workload induced by Concession all along the A/C life.

- Present cartographies of sensitive areas for A330/A350 Pylon based on Aircraft Certification Document (ACD4/6,SSR), Fatigue Specimen Test tear down, In service and Manufacturing issues.

- Insure that the Technical Note is user-friendly for manufacturing and design office team.

Required skills:

You are preparing an E ngineering degree (Bac+5 level) in Mechanics and Structural design or equivalent .

You have more specific skills for:

- Mechanical design

- Calculation methods (static analysis, fatigue analysis and damage tolerance)

- Advanced level in English

You are familiar with tools such as:

- CAD

- Catia V5 / V6

- MBSE

Your mission, if you accept it, will ask you to be:

Finally, a knowledge of project management would be an asset.
