Description of the job

A vacancy for a Systems Environmental Qualification Engineer has arisen within AIRBUS in Getafe.
The successful applicant will join Engineering

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Person to be working in the area of Environmental Qualification of the equipment and system to be fitted in the aircraft.
He/she will work jointly with system/equipment designers in order to make sure the compatbility between equipment qualification data and equipment operational environment, and support, in case issues appear between equipment capabilities and installation.
He/she will participate in equipment/system/aircraft design reviews to make sure that equipment location and installation are according to the equipment qualification levels and, if needed, to establish and/or support the strategy to assure certificability of systems with equipment within their environmental qualification limits.
He/she shall be able to master all the different standard relative to external environmental and equipment/system qualification like RTCA-DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-210, ISO... as well as all the associated procedures for all the different categories.
In addition, will work on defining and validating the Environmental Handbook of the airplane where the aircraft external ambiental operating conditions and intenal compartments conditions are defined.
He/she will be also in charge of defining the policy regarding Nuclear Biological and Chemical external environment and follow up qualification regarding the issue. Furthermore, will be working also on defining the policy for disposal of products with regards to recycling strategies as well as non-introduction or retirement of forbidden materials following authorities environmental policies like REACH, RoHS, CEPA, etc.
He/she shall be able/responsible to perform detailed analysis/assesments/justification showing that airplane installation is compatible with equipment qualification limits.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to degree level in Engineering

·  Experience in Engineering

·  Experience as Systems Environmental Qualification Engineer will be valuable.

·  Experience in Project Management

·  English advanced

·  Spanish will be valuable
