Description of the job

A vacancy for a Software Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid).

The successful applicant will join the Ground Support Systems department.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Involved in the definition and optimization of the software development process ensuring that all of the members of the team work in a coordinated manner through the appropriate roles, activities, work-products and interactions.
·  SW Architecture: identify the interactions between each system component and make trade-offs between different architecture solutions selecting the most appropriate.
·  Provide enough information about the system and its elements to enable the implementation consistent with architectural entities as defined in models and views of the system architecture.
·  Optimize the V&V process/strategy within the SW development process.
·  Ensure the development process produces deliverables according to time constraints, quality standards and committed cost.
·  Required to have knowledge in UML Modelling and SW components analysis, Oracle Models and design, C#, .NET languages, development of smart client on Microsoft Windows, thick client software applications on .NET technology.
·  It is desirable to have an understanding of the business domain (Mission Planning) and to have good communication skills.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a degree level (or equivalent) in industrial or aeronautical engineering or a related discipline.
·  3 to 5 years of experience in engineering.
·  English and Spanish must be negotiation level, written and spoken.
