Description of the job

A temp vacancy (maternity leave) has arisen for Surveillance System Engineer team within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid).
The successful applicant will join Engineering (TEAYA) department

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Support feasibility studies for new products/user needs, etc.

·  Participate in capturing customer requirements at Aircraft Level and Allocate these requirements to the Surveillance System

·  Requirement Management; Creation and maintenance of the RVTM

·  Define the Architecture and Specifications of the Surveillance System being part of the avionics suite (an element of a marketed solution).

·  Elaborate engineering design documentation

·  Define Surveillance Validation and Verification process

·  Prepare test campaign sequencing, test procedures & facilities. Define test equipment and tooling requirements and ensure their timely availability.

·  Perform and/or monitor tests and perform real-time analysis of test results.

·  Release test analysis & correlation reports after test completion.

·  Be responsible of Surveillance Systems integration activities

·  Support the whole design process including design review meetings (internal,supplier and customer milestones)

·  Support the Safety process at system level (DAL, FHA, SSA, etc.)

·  Support Certification and Qualification process

·  Support Technical Publications (AFM, FCOM, etc.)

·  Support transversal areas such as Services, Production, Procurement, etc.

·  Good knowledge of Surveillance systems (XPDR, IFF, TCAS, TAWS, WxR, SVS, ELT), Air Data & Navigation Data systems (GNSS, ADR, IRS).

·  Be at the state of the art of international regulations: ICAO, FAA, EASA, EUROCONTROL, STANAG, Mil-STD, AIMS, etc.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Between 3 and 5 years of experience in systems engineering or development of avionics system, preferably Surveillance Systems.

·  Chartered Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent

·  Ability to work under strict timescales as part of an integrated and multifunctional team

·  International project experience

·  English and Spanish must be negotiation level, written and spoken.

·  Good communication skills and pro-active approach to problem solving
