Description of the job

A vacancy for a Project Engineer (m/f/d) - Advanced Measurement Techniques and Electronics for Experimental Aerodynamic Testing has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) in Bremen at the earliest possible start date. You will join the department Wind Tunnel Technology Development.

We are looking for an Electronics and Measurement Project Engineer with a high level of experience in measurement techniques, sensor applications, strain gauge balances design & calibration and the development of electronic components for our Airbus aero test laboratory, Wind Tunnels and external test equipment. We perform Wind Tunnel Testing for research or development programmes requesting accurate aerodynamic data and airflow patterns evaluation.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

What can you expect?

·  You will maintain and develop measurement systems, electronic installations and signal & data processing and you will automate data acquisition and controls.
·  You will maintain, calibrate and develop specialized test rigs and associated equipment/instrumentation and you will document the development steps and results.
·  You will ensure the operability of measurement equipment and control systems for our internal test laboratories and wind tunnels.
·  You will lead and contribute to international projects for specific measurement techniques development and innovation and you will ensure the instrumentation of wind tunnel models for aerodynamic and aero-acoustic test campaigns.
·  As a member of an international test team you will participate in test campaigns in various Airbus internal & external facilities, research institutes or in flight testing.

Required skills

What do you bring?

·  Educated to degree level in Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
·  Proven experience as an engineer in a wide variety of electronics and in development of measurement equipment.
·  Solid professional experience in areas of experimental testing or automation technologies with high knowledge of instrumentation technologies for the measurement of aerodynamic and aero-acoustic parameters
·  Basic knowledge about aerodynamics and/or aero acoustics
·  Applied knowledge in data analysis (e. g. LabView, C++ and Python programming experience) and data science
·  Solid professional project management experience in a transnational environment
·  A negotiation level of German and English is required

In addition, you are engaged, assertive and reliable. You work goal-oriented, take on any challenge and are a communicative person.

This role will involve frequent travel for business (twice per month) in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
