Job Description

Airbus is looking for an Industrial System Engineer / Production Line Designer to join the Manufacturing Engineering division in Toulouse , France in the Saint-Eloi plant.

.

Context & Team Environment :

·  You will join a Toulouse-based team of approx. 15p, driven by the enthusiasm of developing and improving manufacturing technologies within Saint-Eloi plant, to produce aircraft pylons .
·  Our ambition is to have best-in-class industrial systems to improve efficiency of our production workshops in excellent working conditions for our people, and we need you to design & advise on future production lines and to improve existing ones .
·  We will give you the opportunity to support, as an expert, the development of the most effective and efficient industrial systems, to define and deploy new ways of working within operational teams, with direct contact with key stakeholders.

Your Impact :

·  With your in-depth knowledge of Lean principles and proven experience in industrialization and shop floor performance, you will address key Airbus industrial challenges .
·  You will define and develop the best-in-class industrial system , in a co-design principle with the Industrial Architect and Product Architect, throughout the entire development process (from the product definition phases to the manufacturing process in its operating environment) and in the serial phase (analyzing and optimizing existing manufacturing systems during major mods and/or manufacturing step changes).

Additional details about the responsibilities of the role :

You will be responsible to:

·  Provide industrial system expertise through process methods and tools on all the manufacturing stakes to be optimized (production cost, quality, lead-time, flexibility, time to market, etc.) by integrating worker, machine, material and information flows using digital means and models.
·  Collect and define Lean Line Design guidelines and best practices to be applied on existing and new industrial systems.
·  Define and deliver industrial system design ways of working (Process, Methods and Tools including Model Based Systems Engineering capabilities and requirements) to contribute to the development of a digital design and manufacturing approach.
·  Increase the knowledge and autonomy of our plant community by supporting the implementation of the industrial system design way of working and best practices in manufacturing areas, promote the use of internal good practices and external benchmarking by acting transversally with the group & industry manufacturing communities.

You may need to travel few days per month in Europe for these activities.

Your Boarding Pass:

·  Background in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
·  Solid knowledge of Production Management and Industrialization principles.
·  Proven operational experience in implementing & leading industrial Lean /Continuous Improvement projects demonstrating tangible & sustainable results.
·  Operational experience in the Implementation and Optimization of industrial systems (Design Phase, Implementation and Management of Production Processes).
·  You are at ease with 3D computing & have some Line Modelling experience .
·  Good communication skills with ability to influence .
·  Pragmatism and pro-active approach to propose solution.
·  Good level in English and French.
