Description of the job

A vacancy for an architect for flight segment data processing hosting solutions has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse. You will join EVID Data Processing.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR…
An experienced data processing solutions architect with strong background on software and IT/IS engineering.
The jobholder will take part our journey and enable the development of the data processing solutions needed for tomorrow in our challenging A/C testing environment, mainly focusing on the 'flying' segment of our information system.

Within the Engineering Flight and Integration Tests Centre, we are the team in charge to define, configure, collect, process and distribute tests data for all the stakeholders in relation to development and production activities (lab and flight tests).

Tasks & accountabilities

PREPARE THE FUTURE WITH OUR INSTRUMENTATION DATA PROCESSING SOLUTIONS

To achieve this, FTI Data Processing must address immediate and short term challenge. Flight Tests and In Service Instrumentation (less intrusive, more data, highly connected, etc) calls for a new testing data information system approach, highly flight/ground distributed, build on new technologies/capabilities:
• Prototyping environment on board
• Big data processing capabilities on flight segment
• Cloud processing capabilities on ground segment
• Dockerisation / Virtualisation approach
• IoT & 5G connectivity capabilities for End2end enabled functions
• Overall interop with corporate Skywise platform

On these strategic objectives, we concretely want to:
• Structure and grow our pool of competences around relevant new technologies and know-hows
• Search, benchmark and validate new technologies/concept to be introduced in the current and future product offer
• Shape new solutions to answer new functional requirements or current limitations, focusing on maturity and value for end users.
• Contribute to full lifecycle (from needs capture up to obsolescence) and secure compatibility between generations of related software products
• Design and develop upfront ideas up to pre-industrialisation maturity level + guide industrialisation in the 'factory' model
• Structure appropriate knowledge capitalisation approach and secure a continuous and valuable contribution of the architecture to the products even after entry into production of the solutions.

This role will involve some travel for business in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to Master's degree level (or equivalent) in Aeronautical Engineering
• Vibrating for complex and 'end to end' technical problematics solving
• Proven experience around IS/IT architecture, applying virtualisation/docker and edge computing techniques
• Agile mindset, and ideally an experience of agile project development
• Team player considering that having fun is of prime importance
• Advanced level of French & English.
