Description of the job

A position as a F&DT engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join the TEASA-TL1 department.

The main mission of this position will be the: Analysis and Validation of metallic, hybrid and composite structures for Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT). Ensure safe operation of the product with respect to structural integrity and operational effectiveness.

Tasks & accountabilities

The main tasks will be:

·  Analyse and Validate composite & hybrid structures for Fatigue and Damage Tolerance according to validated methods.
·  Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines Define, interpret and validate tests.
·  Interface and communicate with relevant stakeholders. Provide relevant input to design for the creation of drawings for manufacture and support to other functions (i.e. production, customer support) as needed.
·  Provide stress analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged structures.
·  Perform monitoring/guidance/support of Sub-contracting firms providing structure analysis work.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to Aeronautical engineering or a related discipline.
·  At least 3- 5 years of experience in fatigue and tolerance or a related area.
·  Experience using Catia V.5
·  High level of English
