Description of the job

A vacancy for a Fan Cowls Production Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Bahía de Cádiz (Spain). The successful applicant will join TAO department.

You will be in charge of leading operations in the fan cowls area, ensuring the objectives are reached on time, cost, and quality.

You will be responsible, with another manager, for Fan Cowls A320Neo and the A380 Fan Cowls Manufacturing lines related to Composites Management Area in Bahía de Cádiz. This line includes:

·  2 automatic fibre placement machines; Lay up area,
·  2 autoclaves for curving shared with other programs, reworks area, riveting, inspections, repairs and delivery.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Manage areas Lay-Up of curved elementary parts, including future Fan Cowl A320Neo pulse line.
·  Coordinate with the main machines.
·  Manage Industrial area operations and 18 employees (growing significantly in the coming years).
·  Manage the material, economic and human resources.
·  Coordinate operationally production lines, support the different teams that work on the area.
·  Lead and develop Lean Manufacturing concepts and promote continuous improvements in your perimeter.
·  Ensure the enforcement of health and safety standards marked by the company.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to Industrial engineering degree or a related discipline.
·  At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing. Experience and knowledge in the manufacturing of composite structures will be a plus.
·  Experience and expertise in working with numerical control machines, fibre placement machines and autoclaves will be appreciated.
·  Be in any provision of certification of aviation sector.
·  Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
·  Extensive knowledge in interpretation of plans and standards is a strong advantage.
·  Experience in team management will be an asset.
·  Good command of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
·  Knowledge of SAP and Catia V5 will be a plus.
·  Advanced level in English.
·  Negotiation level in Spanish.
·  Knowledge of another language would be a plus.
·  Good team player.
·  Good leadership and management skills.
