Job Description

Development Engineer (d/f/m) Satellite Payload

A vacancy for Development Engineer (d/f/m) Satellite Payload  has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen. The successful applicant will join “department 'Radar UGS & P/L Data Processing'”.

Within the department 'Radar UGS & P/L Data Processing' the successful candidate will be in charge of the following activities:

·  Autonomously derive the detailed design of data processing systems in accordance with the S/W architecture models as well as with the allocated requirements
·  Verify the compliance of the detailed design against the requirements baseline
·  Improve and optimise the S/W architecture as the detailed design develops
·  Designing and prototyping algorithmic S/W for the geometric, radiometric and, spectral processing of remote sensing data from space-born instruments (imager, radar, sounder)
·  Optimising S/W performances of data processing systems
·  Reviewing and improviing the S/W architecture of data processing systems

About you:

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

- Degree in engineering, aeronautical engineering, general mathematics and natural sciences, physics, electrical engineering or equivalent qualification

- Proven expertise in at least one of the following areas: Image processing, geometric data processing (geolocalization, geodesy...), spectrometer data processing, hyperspectral interferometry processing, remote sensing, space instrument design and performance, comprehensive physical and mathematical background.

- Interest in data processing and analysis

- General knowledge in numerical modelling and simulation

- Experience in programming such as C++ and MatLab

- Background to processes and standards in the aerospace industry is a plus point

- Ability to integrate into a multinational team and build good results in relationships with international customers, subcontractors, laboratories and scientific institutions.

- Motivation and initiative to contribute ideas for further development in the field of data processing

- Advanced German and English skills
