A vacancy for a Product Owner (d/f/m) DDMS Engineering Eurodrone has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “Digital Engineering”.

With its groundbreaking industrial and commercial setup and its unique certification and flexibility, European Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) showcases how European industry can find innovative ways to support strategic autonomy needs and prepare for the Future Combat Air System. European MALE RPAS is not just the first programme to fully implement digital design manufacturing and services (DDMS). It is also seen as a ‘light-house’ programme, not only within Airbus, but also for the entire aeronautics industry in Europe.

We are looking for a product owner to lead the roll-out of DDMS in engineering for the Eurodrone program.

The mission of the Digital Engineering Team is to boost effective real time collaboration across organisations, sites, partners and suppliers through lean processes and joint development platforms to meet the program targets

We orchestrate the roll-out of the digitalization initiatives from DTO and program lines within the perimeter of Engineering with a 1st priority on the various DDMS initiatives.

The successful applicant will serve as the customer proxy to Chief Engineering Office and works closely together with the DDMS project team, other functions like manufacturing and service and aligns with other engineering product owners to define and prioritize the user stories in the overall team backlog.

This allows the solution to effectively address the different program priorities while maintaining technical integrity.

Accountability

Deliver Engineering DDMS capabilities in time and cost for the Eurodrone program, this includes tools, documentation, training material, business operation support. Project size about €8 Mio / year.

Main responsibilities:

· 
Capture overall DDMS requirements and needs from Chief Engineering office, CoCs and other functions

· 
Develop and maintain overall roadmap

· 
Develop the end 2 end digital thread together with other DDMS teams and engineering stakeholders

· 
Maintain the DDMS backlog and agree priorities with stakeholders

· 
Prepare and conduct scrum ceremonies, e.g. sprint planning, daily, backlog meetings

· 
Prepare OP and workload planning in cooperation with technical project team

· 
Identify and manage risks

· 
Report progress, risks and issues

· 
Perform change management events (communication, training, management briefings, etc.) to support digital transformation.

Working knowledge and experience:

· 
Managerial

· 
Project management including earned value management

· 
Experience in continuous improvement and change management (e.g. Lean / Six Sigma, Airbus LBIP, DRIVER)

Experience of working in an international team environment

Excellent knowledge of overall aircraft development process and tools including systems, airframe, certification, configuration management

Excellent knowledge of process baseline BMS DEVELOP and ARP 4754

Good knowledge of PLM / PDM concepts

Good knowledge in digital transformation concepts and technologies (e.g. Cloud, IOT, Industry 4.0, DevOps, Digital Twin)

Good knowledge of military working environment and impact on digitalisation (e.g. security, export control, partner / supplier relationships, national customer needs)
