Description of the job

A vacancy for an A400M Maintenance Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space, seconded to Wunstorf (Germany).

Mission:
Ensure that the contractual performance related to maintenance services commitments are delivered, locally on Main Operating Base in Wunstorf, leading the whole EIS Maintenance Team and related support organizations (AGEs support, different bays support, etc) and in deployments off-MOB if needed. It will be also act as single point of contact towards final Customer (GAF) for any maintenance related issue/activity.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

1. Ensure an optimal In Service Support Maintenance Services solution for the German A400M fleet.
2. As a qualified engineer and Accountable Manager, be responsible for:
a. Developing and implementing the organization, procedures and processes initially defined centrally by A400M MRO Network necessary to attain applicable 145 Organization Approvals as appropriate.
b. Coordinating and managing all On and/Off-Base maintenance activities under Airbus Defense & Space Organization, and of Airbus Defense & Space providers on the Main Operating Base, with an overall concern of performance, safety and Best Value For Money
c. Acting as primary, daily point of contact for the Customer Maintenance Organization for all specific operational maintenance services issues.
d. Providing a supporting and advisory function to all shops operated by the GAF: Quick Engine Change, Propellers, Tyres, Batteries, etc.
e. Acting as focal point of contact for the set-up of a possible National MRO provider capabilities for A400M, then manage and coordinate relationship and commitments with it, for all specific operational maintenance services issues.
f. Acting as primary point of contact with Airbus D&S A400M MRO Network for all specific operational maintenance services issues.
g. Monitor the Entry Into Service Maintenance Team (EISMT) and local MRO's activities to optimize efficiency
h. Monitor worked performed by the Maintenance Track Liaison at the National MRO provider
i. Enforce Airbus D&S quality standards within the National MRO provider
j. Coordinate audit plans with Airbus Defense & Space A400M quality manager, when applicable
k. Ensure the right maintenance planning of activities to maximise Customer Fleet Availability

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
Educated to degree level in Engineering.
English: negotiation level.
German: would be a plus.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Experience in managing teams.
Availability to be seconded to Wunstorf (Germany)
