Job Summary

· To be a team member providing first class maintenance support to Adidas; on operation and maintenance of Automated storage and retrieval systems, and Storage and picking systems installed at our Customers Location in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
· It is expected that the successful candidate will possess proven experience of dealing with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations as part of a mobile-based service and support technician. Reporting to Site Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be eager and determined to succeed, though safety conscious in all activities undertaken, with a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion. In addition the technician may be required to respond to emergency calls. Weekend working will be a requirement and will be structured to provide forward planning.

Accountable To

The holder of this position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor. In case of absence the holder of this position would contact the Site Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Rectify electro-mechanical faults and specialist technical assistance as part of a mobile-based service and support technician
· Respond to emergency calls on customer sites
· Safety conscious in all activities; track record of owning problems and taking them through to a successful completion
· Provide a first class response to customer, ensuring as far as reasonably practical a first time right policy
· Provide emergency breakdown and specialist maintenance support
· Setting up and calibration of precision automation equipment
· Create strong effective working relationships with our customer and their operational agents to enable Knapp to provide a first class service
· Achieve performance in terms of expected output, speed of response, quality of repair and standards of workmanship.
· Carry out installation of conveyor and special machines
· Maintain quality of service by ensuring good quality communications
· Ensure that reports are well written and legible
· Implementation of site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures
· Regular meetings with the Site Maintenance Manager to discuss activities and progress
· Providing specialist maintenance service support to the Customer’s installed system
· Ensure that all spare parts usage issues are logged appropriately and promptly with the Knapp spare parts team
· Ensuring proper care and maintenance of the tooling and equipment supplied
· Provide flexibility and the best use of skills and capabilities
· Ensure that all time sheets and documents are correct and legible, with all the correct job numbers entered, and presented to Knapp US on biweekly basis for approval

The position requires a wide range of skills including but not limited to the following

· Mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration and system testing
· Working against a timeframe to complete reactive repairs
· Interact with on-site management keeping them informed of repair and maintenance progression and addressing their concerns in a professional manner
· Show hands-on ownership of issues to achieve a quick time resolution
· Ability to interpret and work with electrical circuit diagrams
· Appreciate health & safety considerations with regard to given tasks and be able to carry out risk assessments
· Mechanical aptitude including the ability to read assembly drawings
· Operate hand tools and be able to assemble parts onto equipment
· Ability to follow set up instructions, assembly drawings and check lists
· Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills
· Excellent communication and customer service skills for both internal and external customers
· Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills
· Willing to learn and adapt to changing role requirements
· Appreciation of cultural diversity
