Duties include:
· Providing technical expertise and support to all departments
· Supporting and implementing new processes into the organisation
Key Accountabilities
· Control and organise QA activities to maximise the throughput and achieve cost and delivery targets ensuring products comply with the design specification for quality to give customer satisfaction
· To ensure the above activities comply with the company's health, safety and environmental policies
· To assist the manager in monitoring production to minimise defective work thus helping to maximise and achieve quality targets
· To provide technical support for all metallurgical/material queries raised which affect product quality. This includes queries raised internally, by suppliers, plus potential and existing customers
· To liaise with customer's representatives regarding documentation issues, which may affect product quality
· To maintain, review and update the documentation supporting the QA system
· To perform internal and external auditing as required
· To participate in 3rd party auditing as required
· To review and approve documentation for contracts, ensuring full traceability and auditability
· To maintain an overview of N.D.E carried out both in-house and subcontract (currently radiography, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing)
· To participate in the training of the NVQ apprentices on secondment in QA
Qualifications and Skills
· Relevant Auditor Qualification
· Quality Engineer Certification
Essential
· An appreciation of health, safety and environmental issues in an engineering business
· Understanding of Nuclear Industry specifications and requirements
· Problem solving & continual improvement techniques - 5S, 8D, 5Why's or Isikawa
· Knowledge of quality assurance requirements and procedures
Desirable
· Proficient Use of Microsoft Packages
· Experience in supplying technical materials expertise required by an engineering business
· NEBOSH
