Adecco are currently recruiting for a Production & Training Team Leader to join our client based in Northampton. This is a permanent opportunity paying up to £26k per annum - dependant on experience.

The successful candidate will be working within a fast paced, manufacturing environment where attention to detail and implementation will be crucial.

Role Requirements / Responsibilities:



Support Production Manager with all operations and provide cover when necessary.

To provide cover and support for production team leaders when needed and support the development of the backup roles.

To oversee the training for all production staff and to ensure we pass all audits and identifies good and bad practise during training.

Ensure all new starters get the correct level of training and all assessments are completed on time and are ready for decisions to be completed on contracts extensions etc.

Assist and identify improvements or highlight any issues during assessments regards to production staff performances or environment concerns.

Make sure all people are following all the Health & Safety rules including wearing PPE etc.

Provide strong and clear leadership, always set standards as people will always look at you and your performance/communication.

Support in helping to keep the production environment organised and tidy.

Encourage people to look for improvements and control the production CSI's to ensure they are completed.

Support in controlling labour costs and utilise the team to the maximum, always flag up any labour/training issues.

Support KPI targets and overhead budget.

Be the own it champion for the site and to promote values and engage people in understanding own it.

Complete audits as required around the plant.

Maintain training boards

You will need to be self-motivated, creative and have very good judgement to be successful in this role and above all you must be positive with an enthusiastic approach.

Oversee and mark all competency tests so it's consistent and ensure training packs are covered correctly.

Complete assessments on people and on packing operations to identify improvements and issues from safety to quality.

VTS training to oversee and work with team leaders to ensure we have completed on time

Oversee the NVQ program for people in production and ensure compliance by pushing people along.

Standardise all shifts so the training is the same for every person; work with team leaders as they need to support.

All new starters must complete training programs and be assessed on every job; you will need to carryout competence tests to prove that they understand what to do.

Maintain skills matrixes, job descriptions for all areas, training packs and competency tests etc.

Carryout refresher training as needed

Support team leaders with any training requirements and make sure targets are achieved.

The ideal candidate:
Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
Experience within people management
Computer literate with a good level of excel skills
Excellent time keeping skills
Good can do attitude

Working hours:
Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm ** Please note: due to the demands of the role there will be occasional weekend shifts involved and early/late hours involved when big projects are taking place.
