1.Job Purpose

·  The post-holder will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is responsible for providing a comprehensive, efficient and quality administrative service within the Mental Health team.

·  The job description and person specification are an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role, which will take place under normal office-based conditions. The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager in order to meet the mental health team objectives, in line with mental health and learning disability strategic commissioning remit.

·  The job description and person specification may be reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the changing needs of the Mental Health Team

·  Functional Responsibilities

·  The post-holder will be an effective team worker with a professional approach and proficient IT skills, who will deliver efficient services in relation to the receipt, processing and determination of funding applications to the Individual Mental Health and Disability (IMHaD) Patient Care Review Group in accordance with local and national policies and procedures; and to allow effective management of the IMHaD budget.

·  The post-holder will prepare papers, minutes, reports and correspondence for the IMHaD and Mental Health Resource Allocation Panel (MH RAP) meetings, in line with the agreed process, and taking follow-up action as required.

·  The post-holder will respond to queries in relation to IMHaD applications and general mental health commissioning issues from patients, relatives, G.P.s, clinical and social work professionals, local authority and other internal and external partners , Independent and third sector bodies, using initiative and escalating queries and issues as appropriate.

·  The post-holder will provide secretarial support as personal assistant to the Lead Commissioner as required.

·  The post-holder will provide the day to day administration functions of the Mental Health Team. This will include diary management, monitoring multiple email accounts, organising and coordinating meetings, supporting contract reviews, and responding in a timely, sensitive and supportive manner to telephone, fax, post and email communications.

·  The post-holder will support the wider commissioning function as required.

·  Planning and Organisation

The post-holder will be adept at autonomously managing a variety of administrative tasks and complex activities throughout the day for different team members, adjusting plans and prioritising effectively to respond appropriately to urgent requests and to meet deadlines in accordance with IMHaD operational processes
