Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Banquets, responsibilities include but are not limited to:      
·  Supervise, and coordinate the activities of servers, bartenders, and conventions staff
· 
Execute proper function management and floor coverage

· 
Ensure room is set up in accordance with the requested requirements

· 
Plan and coordinate event details with kitchen, stewarding and catering

· 
Implement sequence of service, conduct pre-shift briefings and relate all pertinent information with staff

· 
Uphold staff appearance and grooming policies

· 
Supervise and assist with personalized service to enhance guest experience

· 
Ensure standards are enforced through diligent follow up of all functions

· 
Direct staff in maintaining clean, tidy and organized back of house service areas

· 
Maintain communication with function organizers before, during and after all services

· 
Coordinate any changes with kitchen and stewarding and communicate guest satisfaction and concerns that may arise

· 
Communicate with Royal Service and other relevant departments regarding any concerns or deficiencies

· 
Promote a high level of department morale by:

· 
Coaching and counseling of line staff

· 
Ensuring the clear and accurate communication of hotel and department policies, news and events.

· 
Ensure that all financial reporting is maintained and accurate

· 
Complete all other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager and / or Assistant Banquet Managers

· 
Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives

· 
Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives

· 
Carry out any other tasks as assigned

  

Qualifications:

·  Fluency in English (written and verbal) a must
·  Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management or a related discipline is an asset
·  Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication
·  Teamwork approach and helpful attitude with co-workers
·  Ability to effectively plan and multi-task in a busy environment
·  Must be able to work a variety of shift
·  Previous banquet experience in a hotel environment is preferred
