JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary

The Supervisor, for Lake County Lake County Security Operations, in conjunction with the rest of the Lake County Security Management, is responsible for establishing and enforcing the policies and procedures of the department whether they be in the technical, personnel or administrative areas. The position is directly responsible for managing the work of 10 to 20 Lake County Security officers, Receptionists, Switchboard Operators and Access Control Administrators at any given time. On occasion, a supervisor can be responsible for all security employees on site which could be as many as 50 or more. The supervisor must plan work schedules, job activities, provide training, tools and equipment for the security officers, receptionists, swtichboard operators and access control administrators to safely, efficiently and effectively perform their job functions. The supervisor also coordinates work activities with other internal and external groups (i.e. law enforcement, fire, paramedics, engineers, and production personnel to maximize the efforts of Lake County Lake County Security.

Main Responsibilities

Operating under the general guidance of the operations manager, the duties of this position include but are not limited to:

planning, organizing, staffing, training, directing and controlling the Lake County Security activities for Abbott Lake County.

More specific duties include the developing and issuing of goals, policies, procedures and programs to produce results in accordance with the corporate objectives as well as the objectives of individual customer divisions and departments.

The supervisor must understand and work successfully with customers who often have urgent and conflicting demands.

The supervisor must also determine requirements for new and replacement tools, provide training and job instruction, know safety rules and regulations and be sure all Lake County Security personal are trained on safe work practices.

This positions requires the individual to seek out and stay current with new techniques, equipment and materials associated with the Lake County Security field.

The Supervisor must provide expert technical support during all emergency related events such as medical, fire, violence and crisis notifications.

Supervisors need to be knowledgeable in entrance and exit procedures for controlled environments, cross contamination control procedures, microbical control procedures and aseptic cleaning techniques.

This position requires the individual to assure that all regulatory requirements are met and maintained to include FDA, DEA and OSHA requirements, to allow manufacturing of Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Diagnostic products to market.

The supervisor can also be called on to be a subject matter expert for Lake County Security services when working with the FDA or other regulatory agencies.

Frequently, in addition to his/her more typical responsibilities, Supervisors will act in other assigned roles such as. department representative to work on special inter divisional project teams and/or task forces, provide temporary support for departmental projects, and be a temporary backup for his/her manager.
