WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and variable speed drives controlling high speed production equipment and batch processes.
- Hands on programming and troubleshooting skills are a must (Rockwell experience preferred)
- Signals/Networking - network types, grounding, calculations, protocols, and design
- Control Elements - valves, pressure devices, motor controls, solenoids, regulators, etc.
- Control Systems - drawings, theory (basic processes, control, PID, discrete, sequential); implementation (HMI, PLC, installation, network, testing)
- Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
- Work in a team or autonomously to complete work orders and provide maintenance/electrical support.
- Interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
- Analyze process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and improvement activities.
- Must be computer literate for proficient operation of the Maintenance Management System and spare parts documentation.
- Follow factory and department safety rules
- Lead process improvements and initiate change
- Team with Engineering Department for internal projects
You’ll also be accountable for providing excellent customer service to the production teams and meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years of experience in electrical/mechanical machine troubleshooting, experience with computers, reading blueprints and schematics
- Good communication skills and prioritization skills are required
- Effectively communicate daily issues through documentation, area log books, electronic pass down and verbal communication with peers
Preferred
- Technical certifications or Associates Degree preferred
