JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Job Function:

The Auditor, Global Compliance Audit, position has the primary function to conduct global sales and marketing compliance audits for US operating divisions and international affiliates. Specifically, the scope may include but is not limited to compliance auditing in the following broadly described areas:

  • Operating Procedures for Program Funding (OPPF)
  • Research Funding
  • No-Charge Goods
  • Promotional/Non-Promotional Practices
  • Commercial Contracting/Pricing
  • Government Contracting/Pricing
  • Third-Party Supplier Audits
  • State Reporting
  • HIPAA/Privacy Laws
  • Anti-Bribery
  • External Environment

Transactional Auditors will conduct sales and marketing compliance audits and formulate recommendations for improvement in operating performance and controls.

The incumbent should have the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, present professionally, and work well with the highest level or Corporate and Division management as well as his/her peer group.

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Auditor, Global Compliance Audit, has primary responsibility for executing the following duties:

Identify opportunities for improvements in sales & marketing practices against Corporate policies, local procedures, industry standards and laws/regulations.

Analyze data and document findings and recommendations in audit reports.

Present audit findings to Audit management and divisional and corporate management.

Position Accountability / Scope:

This Auditor, Global Compliance Audit, is accountable both administratively and functionally to the Manager, Global Compliance Audit. By the very nature of the position, the major orientation is “identification of problems” and “problem solving”. A high level of analytical ability is required to evaluate the problem to determine the best solution to a particular situation. Audit services are often requested only when a problem has manifested itself and has defied the attempts of operating management to find an acceptable solution. This analytical ability should be supported by logic, creativity and resourcefulness. The skill should be applied in a manner which leads to acceptance of solutions and persuades and motivates those involved to implement the solution proposed.

Minimum Education:

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university. A graduate degree is desirable.

Minimum Experience / Training Required:

The incumbent should have at least two to three years of related work experience. Part of the experience would have been obtained from employment with a major public accounting/consultant firm or law firm specializing in consulting engagements related to healthcare compliance, healthcare institution revenue cycles, government reimbursement mechanisms, and/or pharmaceutical or hospital products sales & marketing programs. Specifically, the incumbent should have broad experience with the general healthcare industry including Medicare/Medicaid and/or other sales & marketing compliance matters.  It is also desirable that the incumbent be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Other Attributes:

1. Familiarity with financial and operational auditing procedures. General knowledge and understanding of computer-assisted audit techniques to assist in compliance auditing programs.

2. Excellent time management and project management skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels on a one-to-one basis.

3. Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
